mel·a·nin noun \mĕl′ə-nĭn\
Melanin is the pigment that gives human eyes, skin and hair their colour. The pigments range from brown to black and the more melanin that is produced within the body results into a darker complexion.
I'm in complete awe of all the beautiful women of colour that I see everyday. I find our features to be one of kind and our complexions have a natural glow that is just breathtaking.
However, in the beauty industry it feels like women of colour are just an after thought. I know I'm not the only one that walks into a drugstore and sees maybe two or three shades that cater to dark skin tones but 10 that cater to lighter skin tones.
It's not easy for us to find products that will look good on our skin and accentuate our beauty. So I'm always on the hunt to find my next holy grail product to add to my vanity and decided to use this platform to share my finds with women who are in the same position.
