My first impression of this foundation is definitely based off how beautiful the bottle is. I love how elegant it looks on my vanity. It's a frosted bottle with a matte cover which is very minimalistic yet very sleek.
However, I have a love/hate relationship with the foundation itself. When I first applied the foundation it looked beautiful almost like photoshop in real life. But, throughout the day I noticed the foundation started to oxidize and slide right off my face. I have really oily skin so when it comes to using this foundation, APPLICATION is everything.
Because I love how this foundation looks when first applied, I experimented with multiple ways to make it last longer throughout the day. I came to realize that my choice of primer and setting spray played an important role in the application of this foundation.
First I spritz my face with my Fix+ Spray from MAC, then I prime my t-zone with Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector and the rest of my face with Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I then use the foundation and apply it with my Sigma f-80 kabuki brush. Then once again spritz my Fix+ to set the foundation and continue on with my makeup.
I found that applying another round of my Fix+ spray in between my makeup application has really helped with the staying power however, I still get pretty oily after a couple of hours.

NARS ALL DAY LUMINOUS WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION PRICE: $59.00 CAD |
Overview
CoverageThe formula is very pigmented and full coverage. I only need to apply one layer as opposed to building the coverage with my other foundations. I don't even need to use concealer afterwards. As a result the finish looks very natural and not cakey as you may expect with a full coverage foundation.
Longevity
The brand claims that the foundation has 16 hours of wear. Unfortunately, that's not the case for my skin type. On a 8hr work day I notice, I have to blot every few hours to touch up my face to look decent. Usually by the end of the shift my makeup is totally oxidized and slipping off my face. On top of that the colour changes to an orange like tone. So I wouldn't recommend this for a long day.
Application
This is a liquid foundation and the consistency is fairly runny. I don't necessarily like that, I rather my foundation to be a bit more creamy like the Becca Ever-Matte foundation. However, unlike the Becca foundation the formula is very light weight and easy to blend.
Colour Range
What really bothers me about this foundation line is that out of the twenty shades only six cater to darker skin tones. I bought the shade New Orleans which is described as dark with yellow under tones. Although that is the right description for my skin, the colour is still not the right match. The shade above New Orleans is Trinidad however, that shade is way too light and there's no in between. So whenever I use this foundation I have to mix it with my Becca Foundation in order to try and balance out the colour which is extremely annoying.

Finish
The reason why I keep using this foundation is because of the beautiful finish. It gives off this contradicting matte/dewy look which is amazeballs for the first hour or two but afterwards it just tends to oxidize and go bland. It also tend to transfer even with a setting spray, so keep your hands off your face.
Overall
I still have a love/hate feeling for this foundation but it's definitely not worthy of an holy grail title. What I really love is that it is full coverage and one to two pumps covers my whole face. The formula is well suited for skin problems such as acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation as it blends very easily and does an amazing job at evening out your skin tone. The finish again is to die for, it's very light weight and gives off a beautiful glow. I just wish the foundation would last longer for me and that I could find a shade to match my skin tone then it would definitely receive the holy grail title.Recommendation
I would probably recommend to use this foundation only for short events where you need to look flawless but it really all depends on your skin type. If you're oily like me, I would keep looking for something that will stay matte throughout the day.
Have you tried the new NARS foundation, what are your thoughts?
